Blaise Hermsen, 44, has been released from a local hospital and booked into the City Detention Center following an officer-involved shooting in Corpus Christi on Sept. 5.
Hermsen was released Saturday while in police custody and faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault on a police officer, discharge of a firearm in certain municipalities, possession of drug paraphernalia and evading arrest.

Police said officers responded around 7:21 p.m. Sept. 5 to a disturbance involving a weapon in the 300 block of Parr Street. According to police, a man had shot at a woman's dog and then threatened her with a weapon.
Officers later located Hermsen in the area of 300 Port Avenue and attempted to make contact with him. Police said he fled on a bicycle.
When additional officers arrived, police said Hermsen stopped and produced a handgun. A single officer fired, striking Hermsen at least once.
Officers provided first aid until medics arrived, and Hermsen was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The officer-involved shooting remains under investigation.
