GREEN − Akron-Canton Airport travelers can say hello to Chick-fil-A this November.

The airport on Sept. 15 announced the addition of the popular fast-food chain as a new dining option available after travelers pass through security. The restaurant will replace CAK Cafe.

"Our two brands have a shared commitment to delivering a delightful experience for our guests, and we're proud to bring such a well-loved dining option to CAK," Vice President of Air Service and Business Development Lisa Dalpiaz said in a news release.

The move is part of the airport and partner United Concessions Group's effort to expand dining options.

Passenger traffic is up 35% year over year, and the airport is on track to have 1 million passengers this year, according to the airport.

Another renovation is also planned for the Great Lakes Brewing Co. location. The airport said it will release the plans following the construction of the Chick-fil-A

Café Express, Observation Deck and Akron Coffee Roasters have also updated their menu options.

The airport will add a 24/7 coffee machine for visitors before the security checkpoint. A Farmer's Fridge vending machine will also be available post-security.

The airport's post-security retail store, Shops on Deck, now offers locally grown and made products through Purplebrown Farm Store, custom apparel and expanded grab-and-go options.

New ShopAll Fans and ShopAll Sound vending machines have also been added post-security; the machines offer trading cards and electronics.

"Akron-Canton Airport is experiencing tremendous momentum, and that's a testament to the vision and hard work of the entire CAK team," United Concessions Group Executive Vice President Spencer Shaw said in the release. "As passenger traffic continues to grow, we're excited to invest alongside the airport to deliver an exceptional guest experience. Chick-fil-A is an important milestone, but it's only a piece of our long-term commitment to bringing new dining, retail, and convenience options that will continue to elevate the airport experience for travelers and the community alike."
