Vallejo police said they arrested a 30-year-old man Saturday in connection with two homicides.
The arrest comes after a man was found shot and killed at a Vallejo homeless encampment Tuesday night and another man was found shot and killed in a Vallejo parking lot Saturday morning, according to the Vallejo Police Department.
Police said they used a statement from a witness, as well as physical and forensic evidence, to identify Angel Castillo Ramirez, a homeless Vallejo resident, as the suspect in the shootings. After his arrest, police said, Ramirez confessed to the killings.
Ramirez is also suspected of shooting at a person, who was not injured, on Tuesday evening before running away, police said.
The killings mark the eighth and ninth homicides in Vallejo this year, according to police. Six of those homicides occurred after May 1. Vallejo had 17 homicides in 2025, 13 of which involved firearms.
Police said they are withholding information about the two people who were killed until next of kin are notified.
