A Fresno Police officer was arrested Sunday for allegedly trying to break into a Madera County home while drunk.

The Madera County Sheriff's Office says Officer Matthew Rodarte was trying to get into a house on Cathedral Court and Peters Road in the Riverstone Development.

He was allegedly intoxicated and was at the wrong house but was upset that he wasn't being let inside.

Rodarte was booked into jail on charges of attempted burglary, threatening a crime with intent to terrorize and disorderly conduct.

He has since bonded out of jail.

Rodarte has been an officer with the Fresno Police Department since 2022, and was a cadet from 2020 to 2022.

Action News reached out to the police department, which tells us Officer Rodarte has been placed on administrative leave.
