FOND DU LAC – The results of the local primary election are out, setting the ballot for Nov. 3.

According to Fond du Lac County Clerk Lisa Freiberg, the county had a 31% voter turnout, with 59,618 registered voters and 18,728 ballots cast.

Here's what to know about the local races in this fall's election.

As of 8 a.m. Aug. 12, a winner hasn't been declared for the Democratic candidate for U.S. House District 6 between candidates Brad Smith and Amanda Bell.

The winner will face Republican incumbent U.S. Rep. Glenn Grothman on Nov. 3.

Independent candidates Elizabeth Anne Fitzgibbon and Mike Thurow and Wisconsin Green Party candidate Matthew Arndt also are running.

Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley won the Democratic primary for Wisconsin governor, narrowly defeating state Rep. Francesca Hong. U.S. Rep. Tom Tiffany won the Republican primary.

Crowley and Tiffany will face each other in the Nov. 3 election for Wisconsin governor.

Mark Born won the primary for the Republican candidate for Assembly District 37 at 3,251 votes to Steve Rydzewski's 1,868 votes.

Born will face Democrat LaToya Bates in the Nov. 3 election.

This fall, voters will find senate and assembly races in the following districts:

Wisconsin governor: Democratic candidate David Crowley will run against Republican candidate Tom Tiffany.

U.S. House District 6: The Democratic primary results between Brad Smith and Amanda Bell have not been finalized yet. The winner will face Republican incumbent Glenn Grothman, along with independent candidates Elizabeth Anne Fitzgibbon and Mike Thurow and Wisconsin Green Party candidate Matthew Arndt.

Wisconsin Senate District 9: Republican candidate Amy Binsfield will run against Independent candidate Christian Ellis.

Wisconsin Senate District 13: Republican incumbent Sen. John Jagler will run against Democratic candidate Sasha Ripley.

Wisconsin Assembly District 27: Republican incumbent Lindee Rae Brill is running unopposed.

Wisconsin Assembly District 39: Republican incumbent Alex Dallman will run against Democratic candidate Michael Skivington.

Wisconsin Assembly District 59: Republican candidate Bradley Petersen will run against Democratic candidate Jack Holzman.

Wisconsin Assembly District 60: Republican candidate Marty Ryan will run against Independent candidate Tiffany Brault.

The deadline to register to vote by mail or online for the Nov. 3 election is Oct. 14, though voters can register at their municipal clerk's office by Oct. 30 or at their polling place on Election Day.

Valid proof of residence documents needed for registration include their driver's license, utility bill or bank statement.

The deadline to request an absentee ballot is Oct. 29. Ballots must be received by the municipal clerk no later than 8 p.m. on Election Day. Some municipalities, like the city of Fond du Lac, may have drop boxes available.

Early in-person absentee voting is permitted to start as early as Oct. 20. On election day, polls are open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 3.
