The Cobb County Board of County Commissioners extended a moratorium on data centers by 180 days.
The extension passed on consent, according to county officials.
That means the moratorium on any new data center applications or permitting is off the table until at least early February 2027.
It was unclear if Cobb County leaders intend to add another extension on next year.
Previously, the moratorium was approved to run for 180 days, starting in February 2026.
The moratorium in Cobb County was extended as the Marietta City Council weighs approval of a data center.
A proposed data center to be placed off of Delk Road will be discussed by the Marietta City Council on Wednesday.
