A beachfront mansion listed for $12.9 million could set a new record for the most expensive home ever sold in Sandwich.

A sale at that price would almost quadruple the town's current residential sales record of $3.7 million, according to Michael Harney, of Sotheby's International Realty. The six-bedroom, 10-bathroom mansion at 12 Foxcroft Lane hit the market on Aug. 6.

"This would set an all-time record sale for the town of Sandwich," Harney said in a statement. "It is truly a remarkable generational property."

The 16,000-square-foot mansion sits on a 2.4-acre estate facing Cape Cod Bay, less than a 10-minute drive from the famous Sandy Neck Beach. But residents needn't leave the property for a dip in the ocean, as 12 Foxcroft Lane has access to a private beach.

The home works out to about $806 per square foot, and homeowners will need to pay $80,140 a year in property taxes, according to the listing.

The previous Sandwich home sale record was set in 2025, when a property at 27 Gully Lane was sold for $3.7 million, Harney said.

The home has six bedrooms, eight full bathrooms, and two half-baths, in addition to a movie theater and a fitness center in the basement, according to the Sotheby's International Realty listing. One of the bedrooms is a bright red bunk room with a loft and a bed tucked inside a nook in the wall.

Golf lovers can step out onto the backyard putting green to practice their swing, while those looking to take a dip can wade in the infinity pool or lounge in the hot tub.

Several decks face out into Cape Cod Bay, with views from from Plymouth to Provincetown, the listing said. Other features include a poolside cabana, fire pit, grill, outdoor shower, and a boardwalk leading to the private beach. Up to 10 cars can park on the property.

Additionally, a basement-level game room features a billiards table, arcade games, a wet bar, and a popcorn machine and cotton candy maker to boot.

The home follows a bit of a nautical theme, with a large wooden boat steering wheel mounted above the fireplace and lighthouse decor.

The property at 12 Foxcroft Lane was last sold in January 2004 for $2.3 million, according to the Sandwich assessor's database. Before that, it had been sold in November 2000 for $1.45 million.

The current home was built on the property in 2008, the database said.
