An Iranian attack targeted a building of a Chinese firm in Kuwait, killing one worker, the Gulf state said on Thursday, in the latest assault on the US-allied country amid a regional escalation in the Middle East.
The Kuwaiti military said in a statement that the attack caused severe damage to the building in northern Kuwait. The nationality of the fatality was not immediately disclosed.
Elsewhere in the region, the Jordanian army said its air defences earlier Thursday intercepted and shot down five missiles launched by Iran.
The interceptions resulted in no casualties, according to the monarchy's military.
Kuwait, Jordan and other regional countries hosting US military facilities have repeatedly been targeted by Iranian attacks since the Iran war erupted in late February.
