Caddo Parish Sheriff Henry Whitehorn has endorsed Stormy Gage-Watts in her bid to become Shreveport's next mayor, Gage-Watts announced Monday on social media.
Whitehorn cited Gage-Watts' record of collaboration and her commitment to public safety and the community as reasons for his endorsements.
According to the post, Whitehorn said his work with Gage-Watts also has demonstrated that the two leaders share a broader view of public safety that recognizes the importance of being proactive rather than reactive.
"That means addressing neighborhood conditions before they become larger problems, including mowing, litter pickup, and right-of-way care, investing in young people, and strengthening partnerships between law enforcement, local government, and residents," the post continued. "Those priorities are reflected in Gage-Watts' vision for ONE SHREVEPORT."
