Andersen, a tax, valuation and financial advisory services provider, has appointed Tyler Caldwell as managing director within its State and Local Tax practice in the US.

He will be based at Andersen's San Francisco office.

Andersen US country managing director Dan DePaoli said: "Tyler's extensive background advising businesses on multistate tax matters aligns well with the needs of our clients and the continued evolution of our State and Local Tax practice.

"His leadership experience and broad perspective will strengthen our team and support our commitment to delivering high-quality service and strategic guidance to organisations across industries."

According to the company, Caldwell has more than 25 years of experience in state and local tax planning, compliance, controversy and policy work.

His client base includes both multinational corporations and middle-market businesses. He helps these organisations navigate complicated multistate tax challenges and develop tax strategies that align with clients' broader business objectives.

Caldwell's industry experience spans several sectors including technology and retail.

His remit also covers strengthening compliance processes and improving overall tax functions.

Andersen global chairman and CEO Mark Vorsatz said: "Adding professionals with deep technical knowledge and a strong understanding of our clients' challenges is central to Andersen's continued growth.

"The addition of Tyler further enhances our ability to deliver sophisticated state and local tax solutions and provide clients with the insight and experience they need to navigate a complex tax environment."
