Galantas Gold has received approval from Chile's National Geology and Mining Service, known as Sernageomin, for an amendment concerning operational reactivation of the Ripios Dumps at the Andacollo Gold Project.
According to the company, this is the final key permitting requirement for resuming operations at Andacollo, with previous approvals announced earlier in August 2026.
The latest consent extends the original permit granted for the Ripios Dumps, specifically authorising continued activities at the Dumps VII, VIII and IX facilities.
Sernageomin's decision also confirms that these waste dumps will remain within their technical, operational, environmental and safety limits as previously approved.
The Ripios Dumps have an estimated 16.4 million tonnes of authorised capacity remaining, which accounts for 81% of the total approved capacity, despite operations being halted since 2016.
With all necessary regulatory clearances now in place, Galantas Gold may proceed under the existing mine design, waste disposal set-up and heap-leach facilities operating conditions.
The authorisation permits activity for four years from the start of mineral extraction or until the authorised tonnage or capacity is reached.
The company is continuing with engineering, procurement, infrastructure work and operational planning to prepare for the project restart.
Efforts also continue to focus on local employment, contractor engagement and procurement in the town of Andacollo.
The company will work with authorities and local stakeholders to ensure a responsible restart of operations.
Galantas acquired the Andacollo Gold property in June 2026 following the signing of an agreement in January.
The Andacollo Gold Project is situated in central Chile's Coquimbo Region at an altitude of approximately 1,000m. It lies roughly 55km south-east of La Serena, next to the town of Andacollo.
The site is also located beside the Carmen de Andacollo copper mine operated by Teck Resources.
Historically, the Andacollo Gold operation was an open-pit, heap leach mine with an average daily processing rate of around 20,000t.
Between 1995 and 2017, the mine produced a total of 1.12 million ounces of gold.
