Tesla's battery-powered Semi truck is expected to go on sale in Europe nearly a decade after it was first revealed.

Announced via X, the Tesla Semi account said 'specs & launch details for Semi in Europe to be unveiled at IAA Transportation in Hannover, Germany.'

Originally unveiled in November 2017, the Tesla Semi has been designed to revolutionise the heavy goods vehicle industry by delivering the long ranges required by the industry.

While, as mentioned by the firm, further details for the Europe-bound model have yet to be confirmed, the brand claims a range of up to 341 miles (548 km) via a three-motor setup which can deliver up to 1,072 bhp combined.

A Long Range model uses an 822-kWh battery to return up to 500 miles (805 km) of range, though it's unclear whether this model will be heading to Europe.

However, thanks to a 1,000-volt charging architecture, the Semi can fast-charge at speeds of up to 1,200 kW, meaning that a 60% charge could be completed in under half an hour. This will be via one of Tesla's Megachargers, which are expected to be installed in sites across Europe.

It appears that the Tesla Semi will get the same futuristic appearance as the model first revealed close to a decade ago, with a slim headlight design which is similar to the one found on the current Model Y.

The Tesla Semi will be revealed in full at the IAA Transportation show, which will take place between September 15 and 20.
