A Paterson man is facing multiple charges after robbing a White Castle during the early morning hours of Aug. 24, police said.

Paterson police responded to the restaurant at 220 Broadway around 3:42 a.m. on reports of a shooting, which was later deemed to be a robbery. According to Rob Rowan, public information officer for the Paterson Police Department, a worker at the White Castle said that someone demanded money before throwing a rock through the drive-thru window, taking the cash register, and running off.

A short time later, an individual matching the description was found nearby and positively identified by the victim, Rowan said.

A 42-year-old Paterson man was ultimately arrested and charged with robbery and criminal mischief.

A maintenance worker could be seen cleaning shards of broken glass and repairing the drive-thru window Monday morning.
