Crews at Buffalo Niagara International Airport are working on emergency repairs after a problem with the airport's fuel farm circuit system caused several flights to divert Sunday night to refuel.
The issue has caused some delays for flights departing the airport Monday, Aug. 24.
Despite reports on social media that the airport was facing a fuel shortage, no such shortage occurred, according to the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority and Buffalo Niagara International Airport.
At no time did the Buffalo Niagara International Airport experience a fuel shortage, the agency said.
Crews are repairing the fuel farm's circuit system after the issue caused some flights to divert Sunday night to other airports to refuel, according to the transportation authority.
Some flights were experiencing delays Monday morning because of the issue.
The "exact cause" of the problem has not been determined and remains under investigation, said Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority spokeswoman Kelly Khatib.
Officials hope to have the system repaired by the end of Monday, she said.
Passengers should check their flight status directly with their airlines before traveling to the airport.
