One of the attorneys representing Lindsay Clancy in her civil lawsuit against her healthcare providers has been spotted in the courtroom throughout her murder trial. And she's been called a "queen in blue."
Clancy, 36, is accused of killing 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan in January of that year. Prosecutors allege Clancy strangled them with exercise bands in the basement of their home while her husband, Patrick Clancy, was out running errands.
Clancy's defense attorney, Kevin Reddington, has argued that she was overmedicated and lacked criminal responsibility due to mental illness, including postpartum depression and psychosis. She was left paralyzed from a jump from a second-story window the night the children were killed.
She and her now ex-husband Patrick Clancy filed medical malpractice lawsuits against her healthcare providers in January, claiming they did not provide her proper mental health treatment in the months leading up to the children's killings.
Lindsay Clancy filed her lawsuit on Jan. 22 against Jennifer A. Tufts, Rebecca H. Jollotta, C.N.P., Aster Mental Health Inc., South Shore Health System, Inc., McLean Hospital, and Women & Infants Hospital of Rhode Island. Patrick Clancy filed his lawsuit on Jan. 20 against several of the same parties.
Both lawsuits are still open and active as the criminal trial rolls on.

Rosemary C. Scapicchio is one of the lawyers listed as representing Clancy in her civil lawsuit.
Scapicchio is an experienced criminal defense attorney with her own law practice – the Law Office of Rosemary Scapicchio, Inc., based in Boston's North End.
She has worked on several high-profile cases over the years. She represented Gary Zerola, a former Boston prosecutor accused of rape, in his 2023 trial, and Kali Hollingsworth, a Taunton man accused of murder, in his 2024 trial.
Scapicchio's professional website says she "will do everything in her power to represent you as zealously as the law allows." She graduated from Suffolk University Law School and was admitted to the Massachusetts bar in 1991, according to her website.
Scapicchio has won several awards throughout her career, including the Edward Duggan Award in 2004 and Joseph J. Balliro Award in 2024. She is also a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Massachusetts Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
The other attorneys representing Clancy in her civil lawsuit are Andrew C. Meyer Jr. and William John Thompson, of Lubin and Meyer.
