Republican Florida governor candidate Congressman Byron Donalds announced his running mate during a campaign event Tuesday. He selected former State Sen. Bryan Avila as his lieutenant governor pick. The South Florida Republican recently resigned his seat to join Donald's ticket.
Avila is known for pushing the "Stop WOKE Act" in 2022 and the "Halo bill," which gives a 25-foot buffer zone around police and first responders, according to Florida Politics.
Donalds is facing Democratic Nominee David Jolly in the November election.
