The United States Post Office will not be delivering mail during Labor Day 2026, according to the post office website.
"The U.S. Postal Service will observe Labor Day on Monday, September 7," the postal service website said. "All Post Office locations will be closed."
However, you should be getting mail by Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026. And if you need to send mail, the post office does recommend an alternative method of sending mail if no one is there to process your order.

Regular mail will not be delivered on Labor Day, Sept. 7, 2026, the post office said.
However, there are some alternatives to going in-person to the post office for your postage needs.
"Customers are reminded that when Post Offices are closed, they can still visit usps.com to order stamps and free USPS boxes, and to access services such as Hold Mail, Change of Address, PO Box rental or renewal, and Click-N-Ship to print pre-paid labels," the website said.
Deliveries of Priority Mail Express mail may be made in limited locations on Labor Day with an extra, assessed delivery fee, the website said.
