A person has died after sustaining a gunshot wound at Eagle Sports Range, 2525 E Layton Ave. in Cudahy, on Friday, Aug. 28.
That's according to an Aug. 29 release from the shooting range, which said EMS transported the individual to the hospital but that they did not survive their injuries.
An official with the Cudahy Police Department did not offer additional details Aug. 29 like age or gender of the victim, saying the incident is still an active investigation. More details are expected in an announcement that police officials estimate will be released on Monday, Aug. 31.
"We offer out deepest condolences to their family, friends and community," Eagle Sports Range said in the statement, noting it would not be providing further comment on the incident while the investigation is ongoing.
