BLUEFIELD, VA (WVNS) - After the dust settles on the fierce Beaver-Graham rivalry game, the Bluefields always need one more day to both celebrate their community and reunify after a week nervously anticipating their closest and most historic foes.
Of course, Graham exacted sweet revenge on the Beavers to claim a year's worth of bragging rights winning the 100th edition of the series.

But the Saturday directly following the rivalry game always brings the community together for free lemonade, live music, food, vendors, and more at the Lemonade Festival in City Park. This event offered several contests like pie eating contests and hot dog eating contests to allow folks to let loose and have some fun as they celebrate the week one final time.
It also allowed several different groups to connect with community members to show what they have to offer. Pastor Gavin Bauer has helped plant a church in the Bluefield area called Hope Church – Bluefield. He's originally from Bluefield and so he is glad to be a part of this event that brings the Bluefields together.
"We're just excited to be out here and make connections and build relationships. Our mission is that we are here in Bluefield to passionately follow Jesus and make him visible and we just want to make Jesus and his love and the Gospel visible to our community here," said Pastor Bauer.
While they are still looking for a permanent building, they are currently utilizing the Student Center at Bluefield State University for their Sunday morning services which start at 10:30 a.m.
There were tons of lemon-themed items scattered about the park in honor of the Bluefields' unofficial symbol. That all led to the highly anticipated Oliver Anthony concert that took over Bowen Field on Saturday, August 29, 2026.
