McDonald's Türkiye has selected seven of its most distinctive restaurants for a new project called the "7 Wonders of McDonald's." The restaurants stretch from Istanbul to the Turkish Riviera, with designs inspired by their surroundings.
The list is not an official ranking of the world's most beautiful McDonald's restaurants. Rather, it's a collection curated by McDonald's Türkiye to spotlight locations that stand out for their architecture, setting and overall guest experience. Still, several look more like stylish coastal cafés than fast-food restaurants.
The project comes as McDonald's expands its footprint in Türkiye. The company says it has opened 38 new restaurants in the country this year, bringing its nationwide total to 332.
Here's a closer look at the seven restaurants McDonald's Türkiye is calling its "wonders."
Sunset views come with the fries at the McDonald's in Yalıkavak, an upscale marina town on Türkiye's Bodrum Peninsula.
The restaurant makes the most of its location along the Aegean coast, pairing a relaxed, open-air setting with views of the water. Yalıkavak is known for its marina, beach clubs and whitewashed buildings, so this location feels more like a stop on a seaside vacation than a typical roadside fast-food break.
Of the seven restaurants on the list, this may be the one most likely to inspire travelers to linger through golden hour.
Located near the ancient city of Ephesus, the McDonald's in Selçuk borrows design cues from the region's long architectural history.
Stonework gives the restaurant a sense of place, while contemporary elements keep the interiors from feeling like a replica of the archaeological sites nearby. The result is an unusual mashup: a modern McDonald's that nods to one of the best-preserved ancient cities in the Mediterranean.

McDonald's Türkiye CEO Mwaffak Kanjee said the company considers each city's architecture, local lifestyle and pace when planning new restaurants.
"We aim to reflect this sense of place throughout the restaurant experience," Kanjee said in the company's announcement.
These seven locations aren't the only unusually beautiful McDonald's restaurants in the world. The chain also operates inside historic buildings, former mansions and eye-catching modern structures in destinations ranging from Porto, Portugal, to Taupō, New Zealand.
