The United Arab Emirates has responded to a drone detected over the country's territorial waters, the Defence Ministry said on Monday.
The unmanned aircraft had approached from the direction of Iran, the ministry said, without providing further details.
Iran's military, meanwhile, said it had launched dozens of drones at a target in the UAE, according to the Tasnim news agency. The report said Al Minhad Air Base, south-east of Dubai, had been targeted.
The Emirati Defence Ministry separately rejected reports that the air base had been targeted by missiles, saying the claims were false.
The UAE armed forces remain on heightened alert to respond to potential threats, the ministry said.
Gulf states including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar host major US military bases and have repeatedly been targeted by Iranian retaliatory strikes since the war erupted six months ago.
