ECTOR COUNTY, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- An Odessa man was arrested following a weekend shooting that left an Odessa business owner dead. Eduardo Sotelo has been charged with Murder and Tampering with Evidence.

According to the Ector County Sheriff's Office, around 1:45 am on August 30, deputies were called to the 13000 block of 42nd Street after a report of shots fired. A few minutes later, dispatch crews received additional calls, this time reporting that a person had been injured.

At the scene, deputies found 42-year-old Aaron Jordan with gunshot wounds and deputies began to provide medical assistance until EMS arrived. Jordan was taken to Medical Center Hospital where he later died from those injuries.

After an investigation, Sotelo was taken into custody on two charges related to the deadly shooting. He remained in the Ector County Law Enforcement Center as of Monday afternoon on a combined $1,025,000 bond.
