A 13-year-old was sent to St. Cloud Hospital on Saturday evening after a car crash on Interstate 10 in St. Cloud.

A 16-year-old girl from St. Cloud was driving a 2017 Kia Sportage around 8:10 p.m. Aug. 29. Along with the 13-year-old, there was also a 16-year-old boy in the car. The Kia was heading northbound on I-10 when a 2010 Chevrolet Traverse turned eastbound onto St. Germain Street from the southbound highway, and the vehicles collided, Minnesota State Patrol said in a release.

A 38-year-old man from Brainerd was driving the Traverse, police said.

The 13-year-old's injuries were not life threatening, police said. All passengers and drivers in both cars were wearing seat belts, airbags for both cars deployed, and alcohol is not suspected to be involved, MSP reported.
