A 33-year-old man died after he was found with apparent stab wounds early Wednesday on San Antonio's West Side, police said.

San Antonio police responded around 12:19 a.m. to the 1000 block of San Fernando Street, where officers found the man suffering from apparent stab wounds.

The man was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Police said it remained unclear why he was at the location.

Witnesses told investigators that several people involved in the incident were inside the location, prompting officers to call in the SAPD SWAT team.

SWAT conducted a callout, and several people were detained for questioning.

Police said two men, ages 48 and 35, were taken into custody as suspects. SAPD did not immediately release their names or provide information about potential charges.

The man's death remained under investigation.
