Local average gas prices are lower than national average

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) - As the war in Iran continues, Americans continue to pay a premium at the gas pump.

AAA shows the average price for a gallon of regular gas in Kentucky in $3.79. This rate is about 33 cents lower than the national average of $4.12.

Drivers in our area are paying even less.

In Owensboro, the average is about $3.59 a gallon and in Henderson, it is about $3.44.

In Indiana, AAA shows the average price for a gallon of gas is $3.43, nearly 70 cents less than the national average.

Indiana gas is also the cheapest in the U.S. and more than 25 cents cheaper than the next closest state, Texas.

Indiana's gas tax suspension is currently saving Hoosier drivers around 60 cents a gallon.
