A Wayne County man faces numerous charges after the Pennsylvania State Police say he drove a pickup truck into the Honesdale barracks on Sept. 3.
Wade L. Rickard, 36, is charged with four counts of first-degree felony aggravated assault, among other charges, after the incident at 14 Collan Park, Honesdale, in Cherry Ridge Township.
Police say that shortly before 7 p.m., Rickard drove into the station, damaging the entrance and communications room and disrupting phone service. A communications officer was injured, police said in a press release issued the morning of Sept. 4.
Rickard fled after the crash and was arrested by state and Honesdale Borough police on Ski Run Road, state police said. He was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital, and then the county jail.
Court records show that bail was set at $6 million. Rickard is also charged with terrorism, a first-degree felony; four counts of second-degree felony aggravated assault; four counts of second-degree felony aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence; and other felonies and misdemeanors.
