A software company is planning to move its Midwest distribution hub from Illinois to Indiana, which will result in layoffs for almost 70 Illinois workers.
In a message on its website, D&H Distributing Company announced that its new Midwest hub in Whiteland, Indiana, will become operational Sept. 8. The company was to end shipping operations and customer pickups at its current Midwest hub in Bolingbrook.
D&H submitted a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) July 6 to the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity announcing that it will lay off 68 employees from the Bolingbrook facility beginning Sept. 6, when 60 workers will be laid off. The remaining eight layoffs will occur between Sept. 18 and April 1, 2027.
The Peoria Journal Star reached out to D&H by telephone and email but did not receive a response.
