Wall Street expects revenue of $19.13 billion, up nearly 28%, and earnings of $1.74 per share. The test is whether Oracle can convert AI demand into profitable growth without another spending surge.

Oracle's $638 billion backlog equals 9.5 times its $67.4 billion fiscal 2026 revenue. Cloud-infrastructure sales jumped 93% last quarter, showing demand. However, backlog is not revenue. Oracle must deploy servers and data centers enough to fulfill contracts, recognize sales and collect cash.

The financing tension is clear. Oracle generated $32 billion in operating cash flow last year, yet AI data-center investments drove free cash flow to negative $23.7 billion. The company plans to raise $40 billion during fiscal 2027, increasing investor focus on leverage, funding costs and capital returns.

OpenAI provides a catalyst and concentration risk. Its GPT-6 Astra release supported Oracle shares because OpenAI signed a $300 billion cloud-rental agreement with Oracle last year. Evidence that deployment is progressing could validate Oracle's buildout, while delays would amplify doubts.

Analysts remain bullish. Morgan Stanley raised the target from $207 to $210, while Bank of America maintained a Buy rating and $240 target. Consensus is Strong Buy, with a $254.68 target implying 60.4% upside. Oracle remains down 19% this year.

For investors, the report turns on three metrics: cloud growth, backlog conversion and the capex-to-cash-flow trajectory. Strong sales with deteriorating cash flow may disappoint. Better execution and cash generation could unlock a rebound. With an 11.2% swing priced, the market is preparing to deliver a verdict.
