Meteorologist Collin Myers is coming back to Houston, this time at KPRC 2 TV. Here's when.

Collin Myers is returning to Houston television as KPRC 2's new meteorologist after five years in the Dallas-Forth Worth area, the station announced Monday.

During his last stint in Houston, from 2017 to 2021, Myers was an on-air meteorologist at KTRK and both a hurricane season expert and an on-air meteorologist with KRIV. 

"Houston weather demands experience, urgency and a real understanding of the communities we serve," said Ana Lastra, KPRC 2 news director, in a statement. "Collin knows this region, understands the challenges that come with forecasting along the Gulf Coast and shares our commitment to helping viewers stay prepared and safe."

Myers' first day will be Sept. 14, and in an Instagram post, Myers wrote, "Houston, I'm back. See you soon."

Myers studied aerospace, aeronautical and astronautical engineering and atmospheric sciences at the University of Oklahoma before becoming a meteorologist. He worked in Oklahoma City and Topeka, Kansas, before coming to Texas. Then, he worked in  Austin before making his way to Houston.

"Coming back to Houston feels like coming home," Myers said in a statement. "I know how quickly weather can change here and how much viewers depend on having someone they trust when conditions become dangerous. I'm excited to be back serving this community and joining the KPRC 2 team."

While in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, he worked for KTVT and WFAA.
