WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- The Smithsonian Institution Building, also known as the Castle, will resume renovations.
The Smithsonian's first and oldest building will remain partially open through Monday, September 7. Officials say part of the first floor will be open daily for its programming to commemorate the nation's founding in 1776.

Visitors are encouraged to take advantage of experiencing the historic building during its transformation.
According to officials, the building closed on February 1, 2023, for its first major renovation in more than 50 years. The "extensive" renovations were temporarily paused for the nation's 250th anniversary summer 2026.
