MONONGAH, W.Va. (WBOY) — A man was taken to the hospital Monday night after local officials say his house exploded in Monongah.
According to a Facebook post from Monongah Mayor JohnBoy Palmer, the house of Stephen Overstreet exploded late Monday night, requiring him to be transported to the hospital.
A GoFundMe has been set up for Overstreet, and additional posts from his family members say that he was taken to the burn unit at UPMC Mercy in Pittsburgh. The GoFundMe added that only two of his four pets made it out and that he has lost everything in the blaze.

The call was initially reported at 10:18 p.m. Monday. Crews from the Monongah, Valley, Worthington, Boothsville, Farmington and Shinnston fire departments responded to the scene alongside the Marion County Rescue Squad, West Virginia State Police and the Marion County Sheriff's Department.
