(WAVY) —Nonprofits within Dominion Energy's service area can apply for grants from the Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation through 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11.
Dominion Energy said grants will be awarded to support programs and specific projects focusing on human needs, environmental stewardship, education and community vitality. The foundation accepts requests during semiannual grant cycles.
A decision on this round of grants will be announced in November.
"Every day, local nonprofits deliver essential services and programs to address important community needs," said Hunter A. Applewhite, President of the Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation in a statement. "Our shareholder-funded grants are one way we support their work by providing resources to strengthen their efforts and expand their impact."
Grant funding is available to organizations in places where Dominion Energy provides electricity, natural gas or has significant business interests, including Virginia, South Carolina, northeast North Carolina and parts of West Virginia, Connecticut and Rhode Island.
