NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) -- Officials with the Newport News Police Department are investigating a homicide in the 1000 block of 30th Street early Thursday morning.
According to police, officers were dispatched at 1:55 a.m. in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, units located two victims inside a house.
The first victim, an adult female, was suffering from a non-life-threatening injury. She was transported to a local hospital for care.
The second victim, an adult male, was found suffering from a life-threatening injury. He was transported to a local hospital where he later passed away.
Police say the incident appears to be domestic in nature.
Detectives and forensic units remain on the scene investigating.
No suspect information has been made available at this time.
