BENTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Benton Township police are asking for the public's help to suspects involved with a Friday evening shooting that left one man dead.
Officers responded to reports of a shooting at the Blossom Acres Housing Complex near the intersection of Blossom Lane and Concord Road around 7:30 p.m., state police, who are assisting in the investigation, said in a release Saturday. At the scene, officers found a 20-year-old man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital where he later died.
Authorities did not immediately identify the man who died nor did they release information about possible suspects or what may have led to the shooting.
State police, the Berrien County Sheriff's Department, the Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety, FBI Safe Streets Task Force and the Benton Township Fire Department responded to the incident, authorities said.
