Tuscaloosa police are investigating a shooting that injured seven people, including juveniles, on Sept. 12.
Officers with the Tuscaloosa Police Department responded at 10:48 p.m. to the 2600 block of 22nd Street after receiving reports of multiple people being shot.
Officers arrived to find a large crowd and began providing medical aid to the victims until personnel from Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue and NorthStar EMS arrived, said Capt. Marty Sellers of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit.
The shooting occurred in an area where an outdoor neighborhood block party had been held earlier in the day. The event was permitted by the City of Tuscaloosa through 10 p.m.
Sellers said seven people were injured, including juveniles. Three victims initially had serious injuries, but all were reported to be in stable condition as of Sept. 13.
Investigators have interviewed multiple people who were at the scene and are continuing to identify and interview additional witnesses. Several unoccupied vehicles also were struck by gunfire.
The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit and the Tuscaloosa Police Crime Scene Unit responded to investigate.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
