MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) - A man was arrested over the weekend after he allegedly robbed and assaulted an at-risk person.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded on Saturday for a report of an assault in the 200 block of Huffer Lane in Grand Junction. After arriving at the scene, deputies met an adult victim who had injuries on his body.
Shortly after, the suspect, who left the scene before law enforcement arrived, was contacted in the 700 block of Horizon Drive, reportedly with blood on his clothing.
Grand Junction resident Jason Gullion, 47, was then arrested and booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility for crimes against an at-risk person (robbery), second-degree motor vehicle theft, crimes against an at-risk person (third-degree assault) and failure to appear.
A 31-year-old Clifton man is accused of assault and domestic violence after the sheriff's office responded to an incident in the 400 block of 32 Road on Thursday night.
While law enforcement was speaking to the victim - who was later transported to a nearby hospital - and witnesses at the scene, another deputy found the suspect nearby and conducted a traffic stop.
Alvin Leva Martinez was then booked into the jail for third-degree assault and domestic violence.
He was released on Friday on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond.
A Clifton woman, who was arrested earlier this month for assault involving a stun gun, is facing an assault charge and more after an incident on Saturday.
The sheriff's office stated that deputies responded to a report of an assault around 7 p.m. in the 400 block of Topaz Drive. After arriving at the scene, authorities learned the woman had driven off. But she was located shortly after near 32 Road and Hill Avenue in Clifton.
Christina Miller, 21, was booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility for third-degree assault and violation of a protection order.
A REDDI report (Report Every Dangerous/Drunk Driver) resulted in the arrest of a Minnesota man, who was reportedly driving under the influence.
Mesa County deputies were notified of the REDDI report around 2:45 a.m. Sunday, learning the driver was allegedly traveling the wrong way on U.S. Highway 50 near the Mesa-Delta County line. Deputies located the driver near the Whitewater area.
The driver was stopped and given a roadside test for impairment. According to MCSO, two other passengers, including an infant, were in the vehicle.
Ultimately, Nicholas Ellis, 34, was arrested and booked into the jail for DUI, child abuse - negligence (no injury), driving under restraint and driving the wrong way on a one-way street.
A Clifton woman and Grand Junction man were booked on Sunday afternoon after deputies responded to a verbal disturbance in the 3200 block of D 1/2 Road.
Although deputies determined no physical altercation happened, both adults were found to have active warrants for their arrest. The suspects, Heather Burdock, 40, and Kevin Rohracker, 43, reportedly refused to leave the residence.
Deputies received a search warrant, entered the home and arrested both individuals.
Burdock and Rohracker were both booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility for obstructing a peace officer. Rohracker was also charged with resisting arrest and theft (ranging from $300 to $1,000).
Burdock was given a $1,000 personal recognizance bond and released on Monday. Rohracker remains in jail on a $1,500 cash-only bond, according to the Mesa County Sheriff's Office.
A 49-year-old man was arrested on Friday after reportedly violating a protection order two days prior.
Deputies responded to the Town of Mesa and apprehended Jason Fitzsimmons. He was booked into the jail on two counts of violating a protection order and harassment over the telephone (threats, obscene).
Fitzsimmons posted a $1,000 cash bond and was released on Saturday. He was previously convicted of a protection order violation from a 2007 criminal case, the sheriff's office stated.
