Newly released data from Realtor.com for June shows that potential buyers and sellers in Tompkins County saw higher home sale prices than the previous month's median of $317,500.
The median home sold for $380,000, an analysis of data from Realtor.com shows. That means June, the most recent month for which figures are available, was up 19.7% from May.
Compared to June 2025, the median home sales price was down 9.5% compared to $420,000.
Realtor.com sources sales data from real estate deeds, resulting in a few months' delay in the data. The statistics don't include homes currently listed for sale and aren't directly comparable to listings data.

Looking only at single-family homes, the $365,000 median selling price in Tompkins County was up 15% in June from $317,500 the month prior. Since June 2025, the sales price of single-family homes was down 11.4% from a median of $412,000.No single-family homes sold for $1 million or more during the month.
In June, the number of recorded sales in Tompkins County rose by 25.9% since June 2025 — from 58 to 73. All residential home sales totaled $33.3 million.
Across New York, homes sold at a median of $545,566 during June, up 1% from $540,043 in May. There were 9,922 recorded sales across the state during June, down 15.6% from 11,749 recorded sales in June 2025.

The total value of recorded residential home sales in New York increased by 32.6% from $7.3 billion in May to $9.7 billion this June.
Out of all residential home sales in New York, 21.45% of homes sold for at least $1 million in June, up from 19.53% in June 2025.
Sales prices of single-family homes across New York decreased by 2% from a median of $459,324 in May to $450,152 in June. Since June 2025, the sales price of single-family homes across the state was down 9.2% from $495,868.
Across the state, the sales price of condominiums and townhomes rose 8% from a median of $772,562 in May to $834,747 during June. The median sales price of condominiums and townhomes is up 12.5% from the median of $742,357 in June 2025.
The median home sales price used in this report represents the midway point of all the houses or units listed over the given period of time. The median offers a more accurate view of what's happening in a market than the average sales price, which would mean taking the sum of all sales prices then dividing by the number of homes sold. The average can be skewed by one particularly low or high sale.
