An Oakland County man has always told his girlfriend he was going to win big playing the lottery. He finally did.

The 74 year old, who chose to remain anonymous, recently won a $1.5 million Lotto 47 Double Play prize, according to the Michigan Lottery.

He purchased a ticket ay Zetouna Liquor Fine Wine, 3793 Rochester Road in Rochester Hills, that matched the six Lotto 47 Double Play numbers drawn June 17: 34, 35, 41, 44, 45 and 47.

Paul Pattwell of Pinckney, 68, mistakenly purchased two Fantasy 5 tickets for the same drawing while he was vacationing in Northern Michigan and won two $110,000 Double Play prizes. He matched the Fantasy 5 numbers in the June 15 drawing to win the big prizes. (Provided by Michigan Lottery)

"I play Mega Millions, Powerball, and Lotto 47 regularly and have always told my girlfriend that one day I was going to win big," he told the Michigan Lottery. "She always checks my tickets for me, so right after she found out I'd won, she called me and said: 'You really did it! You won the lottery!' When she told me how much I'd won, I was stunned!"

The man recently claimed his prize and chose to receive a one-time lump-sum payment of about $1.04 million rather than annuity payments for the full amount.

He plans to share the money with family and invest the rest.
