DWI suspect hits 2 pedestrians outside San Lorenzo Fiesta
A suspected drunken driver was arrested after allegedly hitting two pedestrians crossing a street while leaving the San Lorenzo Fiesta in Clint, an El Paso County constable said.
Emmanuel Meza Rabelo, 20, of Fabens, was driving a black GMC Sierra in the wrong direction on a one-way street and did not see a man and a woman crossing Church Street when he struck them, Precinct 6 Constable Javier Garcia said in a news release.

A constable on patrol at about 11:20 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8, was flagged down by a bystander saying that pedestrians had been struck by a vehicle at Church Street and Garcia Street next to San Lorenzo Catholic Church, Garcia said.
A 62-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman, both from San Elizario, received minor injuries and were treated at the scene by the Clint Fire Department and Life Ambulance, which transported the woman to a hospital for additional treatment, the constable's office stated.

Meza, who remained at the scene, allegedly showed unspecified signs of intoxication and failed a field sobriety test and later voluntarily provided a breath sample that was above the 0.08 breath alcohol legal limit, the constable's office said.

Constables arrested Meza on a charge of driving while intoxicated. He was booked into El Paso County jail in Downtown under a $10,000 bond. Jail records show a surety bond was posted but he was still in custody as of Monday morning, Aug. 10.
The San Lorenzo Fiesta in Clint is one of the largest church festivals in El Paso County and draws 30,000 to 35,000 visitors over three days.
