A 26-year-old Haines City man died in a two-vehicle crash the morning of Aug. 9 on the Cypress Parkway near Poinciana.
Polk County sheriff's deputies were dispatched at 6:07 a.m. to Cypress Parkway, about 1.2 miles west of San Clemente Avenue. When they arrived, they found the 26-year-old man dead in his 2025 Hyundai Elantra.
According to the the Sheriff's Office, investigators determined that a 2012 Toyota 4Runner driven west by a 28-year-old Kissimmee woman crossed the center line and collided with the Elantra, which was traveling east.
The woman suffered non-life-threatening facial injuries and was taken to a hospital, the Sheriff's Office said.
Cypress Parkway was closed for approximately 2.5 hours.
The determination of any criminal or civil charges will be made at the conclusion of this investigation, which is ongoing, the Sheriff's Office said.
