Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine would carry out further strikes against targets deep inside Russia, after Kiev confirmed an attack on Russia's oil industry in the Siberian city of Tobolsk.
Zelensky said in his evening video address on Monday that Ukraine would continue attacking targets deep inside Russia to show Moscow that peace was necessary.
He also again warned about North Korea's military support for Russia. Moscow had received additional ballistic missiles from Pyongyang and was preparing for another contingent of North Korean soldiers to arrive in Russia, Zelensky said, without providing evidence.
North Korean weapons had been further developed in cooperation with Russia, posing a threat to countries in Asia, Zelensky said.
Over the weekend, Zelensky said Russia could receive far more North Korean troops to support its war in Ukraine than previously thought, putting the number at up to 50,000 soldiers.
Russia has been waging a devastating war against Ukraine for more than four years. North Korean troops were deployed in Russia in 2024 and 2025 to help Russian forces push Ukrainian troops out of the western Russian region of Kursk.
Ukraine has significantly stepped up its counterattacks against Russia in recent months, relying heavily on drones.
