A juvenile suffered a gunshot wound to the head Monday night during a shooting at Oakwood Terrace Apartments.

The Escambia County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to the apartments after 9 p.m. Aug. 10 and found a juvenile with a gunshot wound. The ECSO said the juvenile's head appeared to be grazed by the bullet, but they were awake and alert.

"We did get some conflicting statements, and we're still locating a suspect," said ECSO spokesperson Morgan Lewis.

The juvenile was transported to a local hospital with wounds that are not believed to be life threatening.

Further information was not released.
