Nicholas "Nick" Houck, the brother of one of the men convicted in connection with the disappearance and presumed murder of Crystal Rogers, will have his trial in Owen County, the Nelson Circuit & District Courts' office announced Aug. 11.
The jury trial, which was originally to take place in Nelson County, will now take place in Owenton after a change of venue was distributed Aug. 6.
A former Bardstown Police officer, Houck was arrested June 4 on charges of first-degree perjury after an investigation found he allegedly lied under oath between 2015 and 2023. If convicted, he could face up to five years in prison.
Houck's brother, Brooks, was sentenced to life in prison in September 2025 in connection with Rogers' disappearance. Brooks Houck was dating Rogers at the time of her disappearance in 2015, and prosecutors referred to Nick Houck and his mother as "unindicted co-conspirators" during the trial, according to previous Courier Journal reporting.
Nick Houck's pre-trial conference is scheduled for Aug. 28.
