A wildfire ignited Aug. 11 at the Lane/Douglas county line is estimated to be 25 acres.
The Harness 1310 fire is burning in timber land approximately 16 miles south of Cottage Grove between Scotts Valley Road and Weyerhauser Road. According to Lane County's property map, the land is owned by Weyerhauser.
The Douglas Forest Protective Association, which responded to the fire, reported the fire currently poses no threat to homes or structures. According to the Register-Guard's data on the fire, 18 people in 11 homes live in the area.
According to WatchDuty, the fire was first observed at 1:35 p.m. Aug 11.
Firefighters with the Oregon Department of Forestry and the DFPA have responded with helicopters, 15 engines, two water tenders, one dozer and overhead command staff. DFPA said the fire showed "moderate spread."
The R-G has reached out to Weyerhaeuser's Oregon public relations manager and the Oregon Department of Forestry's South Cascade District office.
