Two Dearborn officers and a suspect were shot early Friday while police were attempting an arrest, law enforcement officials said.
The officers suffered non life-threatening injuries, while the suspect was listed in critical condition, Dearborn police said in a Friday release.
The incident happened at 2:42 a.m. in Dearborn Heights near the Inkster border, Michigan State Police said in an X post. MSP has been called in to investigate the officer-involved shooting.
Dearborn police said the officers were shot while attempting to arrest a suspect in the area of Inkster Road and Van Born Road.
No further information was provided.
The incident was the third officer-involved shooting by Dearborn police this summer, which each case involving violence allegedly perpetrated against officers.
Last month, a 52-year-old man was shot after allegedly pointing a shotgun at officers during a July 24 welfare check. The man, whose name was not released, was charged with one count of assault with a dangerous weapon, a count of using a firearm during the commission of a felony, a count of possessing a firearm while under the influence, and a count of disturbing the peace, police said.
On Aug. 5, Dearborn Police shot and wounded a suspect after they said he'd tried to run them down with a vehicle.
