Three people are in custody after a driver fleeing from officers on the city's West Side on Friday night, Chicago police said.
Officers responded to the crash scene in the Near West Side neighborhood's 2000-block of West Lake Street, not far from the United Center, around 9:20 p.m.
Police said a silver sedan's driver fled from officers on southbound Damen Avenue, ran a red light, and slammed into a beige SUV, which was heading westbound on Lake Street.
Responding officers recovered guns from the scene and took three male suspects from the sedan into custody. Their ages were not immediately known.
The 25-year-old man who was driving the SUV declined medical attention.
Charges are pending, and Area Three detectives are investigating.
Authorities did not immediately provide further information.
