The death of a woman whose body was found inside her Bronx apartment building with injuries to her head and torso has been deemed a homicide, police said Saturday.
Josefa Soto De Carmen, 57, was discovered dead inside her home on Grand Concourse near E. 168th St. about 3:25 p.m. Friday, cops said.
Neighbors said the victim lived with family in the fifth-floor apartment.
"I feel very bad and sad because I won't see her again — saying 'What's up' to her, greeting each other how we always used to every time we just see each other," neighbor Santa Hernandez, 47, said in Spanish.
The victim 's husband told Johandry News he found his wife dead in the living room when he took a break from work to look for a tool at home.
"There I saw her lying on the couch, sitting up and covered in blood," he told the outlet in Spanish.
