BUTLER TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Authorities say three people are out of a home after an early Sunday morning fire in Butler Township.

Butler Township Police Chief William Feissner told 28/22 News they were called along with other responding units to the 200 block of Four Seasons Drive in the Beech Mountain Lakes Development early Sunday at 5:15 a.m.

Chief Feissner explained that two people were in the home at the time of the fire and were able to escape.

No one was reported injured in the fire and Chief Feissner says the home was considered a total loss after the fire.

Chief Feissner added that a police officer helped one person get away from the blaze as a large propane tank caught fire.

Firefighters kept the flames from major damage, but Chief Feissner say the homes on either side suffered heat damage.

A total of three people were displaced after the blaze and they're getting help from the Red Cross.

Chief Feissner says the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal and Butler Township Police are investigating what led to the fire.
