The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office recently announced the arrest of a suspect in connection with an Aug. 10 crash that damaged cemeteries along Hwy. 933.
According to an APSO news release, 70-year-old Byron Buie of Prairieville was booked into the parish jail on five counts of desecration of graves, two counts of simple criminal damage to property and one count of hit-and-run driving.
Per the report, members of the community submitted tips after seeing a previous media release.
