A man is facing charges in a pedestrian's death investigation in Raleigh.

According to Raleigh Police, Anas'jah Sharnae Leak, 25, was walking with another person on or near the shoulder of the Capital Boulevard when she was struck by a driver.

The driver, Tyron Jamaal Jackson, 35, left the scene but was later stopped and arrested by a Wake Forest police officer.

The officer conducted a traffic stop on Jackson's Dodge Challenger based on damage to the car and its expired registration, RPD said.

Raleigh officers responded to the traffic stop location on Dr. Calvin Jones Highway and confirmed it was the suspected hit-and-run car.

Jackson was taken into custody and charged with felony hit-and-run and misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.
